TIN MINERS

22 July 2010

George Eustice, the Conservative MP for Camborne and Redruth, drew attention to a pertinent and important local issue the other day. He pointed out that the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) report on hurts caused by mining did not include tin miners and in consequence those miners are being denied compensation available to other miners. His point was well made and the minister, who was sympathetic, promised to ensure the IIAC considered it. [ Hansard 19 July 2010 column 4]

Fiat iustitia.
