Let me restart with a horror story.

In March 1810 a child starved to death in Westminster in the capital of one of the richest countries in the world. The child was a refugee. The news of its death seeped out two and a half years later. Did it cause a ripple of interest and concern?

Well, we shall see because, let me confess, I put the wrong date.

It was in March 2010 that the child starved to death in Westminster. Read the bare bones of the story here (‘Child starved to death after benefits delay’ Inside housing 5 October 2012).
