Loic Rich, who was Mebyon Kernow (MK) parliamentary candidate for Truro and Falmouth in last year’s general election, has left MK and now moved to the Conservative party.

Does this move matter? Politicians do move between parties, and inside them too, but this is a striking move and a blow to MK. Rich is also a Truro town councillor.

Incidentally, I now see that the turnout for the Camborne town council by-election was 17.84 percent. This means that about 3.64 percent of the electorate turned out to vote for MK; that’s about one in twenty seven electors. It calls itself the party for Cornwall. One in twenty seven.
