CORNWALL UNITARY ELECTIONS DELAYED

8 October 2008

The elections for the unitary council of Cornwall, already beset with problems over the number of councillors, are being put back to 4 June 2009, a delay of a few weeks. This delay, which applies to all local government elections in England, is so that the elections are held on the same day as the EU parliamentary elections. The details are in Hansard 7 October 2008 column 7WS.
